Biography

Dawn Atkinson Prestwich is an executive producer/showrunner, alongside her writing partner Nicole Yorkin, of the new Amazon series Z: The Beginning of Everything, based on the life of Zelda Fitzgerald. Before that, the team most recently executive produced THE KILLING (AMCTV/NETFLIX). Previously, they were on FLASHFORWARD on ABC, were showrunners on THE RICHES (FX), co-executive producerson BROTHERHOOD on SHOWTIME, and co-executive producers on CARNIVALE on HBO, among many other shows. They won the Writer’s Guild Award for Best Drama Episode for the Pilot of their show THE EDUCATION OF MAX BICKFORD, and a Peabody Award for BROTHERHOOD, and were nominated for an Emmy for Chicago Hope. In her spare time, Dawn teaches writing to incarcerated juveniles in the Los Padrinos Juvenile Hall. Her oldest son lives in Chicago and writes for The Onion (Clickhole), and her youngest is a senior in high school. They are both the funniest, kindest, smartest people she knows.
