Mary Anne Mohanraj is author of Bodies in Motion (HarperCollins), The Stars Change, and ten other titles. BiM was a finalist for the Asian American Book Awards, a USA Today Notable Book, and has been translated into six languages. TSC is Lambda finalist SF. Recent publications include essays in Salon and short fiction in Asimov’s, Clarkesworld, and Lightspeed; current work includes essays on parenting and breast cancer.
Mohanraj founded the Hugo-nominated magazine, Strange Horizons, serves as editor-in-chief of Jaggery, and has won an IL Arts Council Fellowship. She did an MFA at Mills College and a Ph.D. at the Univ. of Utah. Mohanraj teaches at the Univ. of Illinois, in all aspects of the field: writing, editing, revising, workshopping, submitting short fiction and essays, finding an agent, crafting book proposals, applying to residencies, and finding ways to nurture your writing in the midst of a busy life.
