Diana Mendez The first person in her family to go to college, Diana went from Inglewood to New Haven where she earned a B.A. in Film Studies and Latin American Studies from Yale. She had to teach her mother to pronounce the letter “Y” in English, because people thought she was proud that her daughter had gone to “jail.” The fish out of water experience at Yale became fodder for her TV pilot JAIL BAIT. This script landed her in the National Hispanic Media Coalition’s (NHMC) TV Writer’s Program. Shortly afterwards, Diana became the writers’ assistant on the TNT procedural RIZZOLI & ISLES, where she wrote her first produced hour of television. In 2015 Diana earned a spot in the Fox Writers Intensive. She is currently a story editor on the Fox show ROSEWOOD, where she continues to hone her procedural chops and develop her passion for female-driven mysteries.
