Sulay Hernandez is the owner of Unveiled Ink Book Development where she works directly with writers and agents to conceptualize and polish projects for publication. The majority of her editorial experience was gathered as an editor at Touchstone Fireside, a division of Simon & Schuster and, most recently, a Senior Editor at Other Press. Her training began with internships at Penguin and Avalon Books, followed by the Vigliano Literary Agency and Kensington Books. As a generalist with a specialty in developmental editing, she has worked on literary and genre fiction, narrative nonfiction and books in translation, many of which have become national and international bestsellers and critically acclaimed award winners. While at Simon & Schuster, she spent three semesters as an Adjunct Professor at the City College of New York’s Publishing Certificate Program, created by bestselling author Walter Mosley, and dedicated to bringing diversity to the publishing industry. Born and raised in New York City’s vibrant Washington Heights neighborhood, Sulay holds a B.A. and an M.F.A. from Sarah Lawrence College and is fluent in English and Spanish.
